Rude unprofessional Absa staff and poor service thats accompanied by misinformation
My mother Mrs Siepati Magdeline Rakoma/Machele *** Mrs Machele has ben using ABSA since 1980's while it was still Al**** Building Society
My mother tried to purchase at a Roots store with her Absa debit card and the transaction was not completed because the cashier said the... her till (system) gave her the message "Initializing and the documents (slip) she gave my mother had stated "Initializing " she had to travel back and forth from home to Meadow point at Roots store And Roots did trace the money and gave her a Authorization Number to go collect the money at an Absa branch and the nearest is Dobsonville.Absa Dobsonville Mall required of her... a letter as proof of none purchase at Roots and she will receive the money within 48 hrs that is after she provides the letter to Absa....on the 7th of March she went to Absa Westgate Mall and they did trace the money but she couldn't wait any longer on the queue as she fell ill being a pensioner that she is... she was given a case Number (C-***3) "Feedback will be provided within 24 -48 hrs. Today 10/03/2026 at Absa Dobsonville Mall a very Rude Cashier (service person) was rather unwilling to help and talking over her which she deemed unprofessional, the Cashier told her she will receive her money back but she wont be able to notice or realize thats its been transfered back to her as she then proceeded to transfer her to another teller due to language barrier as she (service agent) was worked up.the other service agent far more cordial (better),she was transferred to gave her a Case Number 10/03/2026 TKT *** and explained to her they will call her and if not she should come again on Friday. As it is she would rather stop using Absa or rather swop the bank she banks with
