Reverse a mistaken EFT

I've made an EFT from my ABSA acount to a FNB account (not immediate) transfer. I phoned the call centre a mere 3 hours later to inform them that I've made a mistake and to please reverse it. They said that I should wright a report directed to a department that will deal with it but it can take up to 3 weeks. How can this be possible. Who would keep R6499 that was mistakenly transfered to their account in it for 3 weeks?!I've been a client of ABSA for the past 20 years but find this service really dissapointing and poor. I need my money to be reversed back to my account asap. It was a non immediate payment after all.
