Retrenchment clause invalid!!

Please check your paper work when signing any contract with ABSA!

The retrenchment clause is totally **********, and does not actually apply in their world. I signed a credit card agreement, and now have to pay it off.

This is after I sent my retrenchment papers through to their Credit Life Department, that was supposed to be dealing with this. About 5 months later; I was handed over to some debt collections agency.

Excuse me if I am wrong, but if you pay an extra fee on the contract, that should be taken into account, or can I write that under ********** occurrences?

Kindly explain why you have something in your contract (which I paid for), but is not legally binding? Surely - that is *****?

Also one collection agency should be dealing with everything. You cannot pass this on, according to the Credit Act. And getting multiple agencies to collect the money quicker, will just land you in jail. Just saying.

I was quite happy wit ABSA, until this episode came up. Now I would only recommend them to my worst enemies.
