Retrenchment claim
I’m disappointed on how Absa insurance handled my retrenchment claim. I don’t know if this is how you treat all clients or you are selective. Only when I make a follow up that’s when I’m told my claim has been rejected, and the reason is that no salary can be traced on my cheque acc. I last received income December 2020 and I last received full salary during the beginning of the first lockdown announcement by the president March 2020 to be exact. I have been receiving my Salary with Absa for the longest time and now that there is no income coming in I receive such treatment! The retrenchment is dated 23.04.2021 because the employer was taken to CCM/bargaining council and the process was delayed on their side. If only someone called and asked questions this would have been explained but no, you are very quick to reject insurance claim and worse with no feedback.
I lodged a complaint against ABSA for the way they handled my claim for the R5000.00 retrenchment claim for my cheque account and for the loan benefits as an existing client however I only received assistance with the loan and was told that the case has now been closed and finalized.
I do not understand how the case is closed when I still have not received help with the retrenchment claim.
