Refusing to close accounts

I visited the Absa Mall of Africa branch yesterday to close all my accounts, but I was informed that I had a pending vehicle application. When I requested the branch to close or cancel it, I was directed to call the call center. Upon contacting the AVAF call center, I was assured that the application would be closed immediately. However, after receiving a notification from the credit bureau that Absa had conducted a credit check on my credit profile, I called the AVAF again, only to be informed by Lesedi Mulusi that it is not possible to cancel the application as it will simply fall off the system. This is incorrect because a previous application I had with them remained on their system for more than a year.
