Refused to release bank card

I was drawing money from my Capitec bank account, using an Absa ATM. When the machine was returning my bank card, The card did not come out, I could see the card, it was not in line with the slot but was above it, so it could not come out and was kept in the machine. I went into the bank and the staff opened the ATM machine to get the card. When they saw the card was from another bank they refused to give me my card and I had to go to my bank and pay for a new card.
