Received my bank statement on the 21st July, and I noticed a major discrepancy. My account was debited for R ** *** , without my authorisation / approval. I spent two and a half hours trying to get to the bottom of it, without success. I received no phone calls, emails, not even an sms regarding this debit.I have been banking with absa for forever, I am utterly disgusted that they would allow debits to go through without any consent from the customer. My opinion of them being a reputable bank has been *****ed. Seriously thinking of changing banks. How safe is my hard earned savings when large amounts of cash can be debited without prior warning,approval or notification ??
