R20,000 extra on student loan that isn't being fixed

I have a student loan with Absa and my mom stood as surety. When my mom passed away the loan got tied up in the late estate and the loan should have been marked as being in recovery (the documents were sent from the executor to confirm everything and me and my dad have gone to hand in a copy of the death ceritficate at 2 different branches). This however was not done on Absa's side and as a result more than R20,000 interest has accumulated to the student loan after her death. For 4 months I've been sent back and forth with this issue. Every Absa section keeps telling me that this should be reversed and they cannot add interest for an account of someone that is deceased. So I've been sent to student bureau, late estate and branches. Everyone keeps referring me to the other and 4 months later, no one at Absa is fixing this or even attempting to fix it.

This is money that I will have to start paying back once the late estate has been sorted out and having to pay an additional R20,000 on top of the current student loan is not acceptable.
