R1 uncleared transaction stands in the way of closing my credit card account!

On Saturday 23rd April I went to Benmore Absa branch to close my Cheque and Credit Card Accounts. After successfully closing my Cheque account I was told by the Consultant to use the in branch telephone line to call the Credit Card department for a settlement figures. On speaking to Solomon Phalade *** he informed me of an uncleared transaction of R1 (yes, ONE rand) from Uber which prevented him closing my account. He advised that I was unable to reverse or cancel this R1 and will have to wait 4 to 5 days for clearance or reversal from Uber. I insisted this must be an error as Uber wouldn't invoice R1 for any ride. Solomon Phalalde insisted he is following Absa Bank policy and that I must call again (or wait for his call ) to effect account closure. I'm seriously disappointed that Absa staff can't see the woods from the trees and sight policy for a R1 balance. I've completely lost faith in the institution. So sad that I wasted 2 hours on this matter. That's 2hours I will never get back!!
