Put us in a Financial Burden
We have short term insurance with ABSA since 2008 for our vehicles and house hold. Last Monday 09 Mar 15, I had a serve car break in at Illovo (Sandton) where my vehicle was un drivable. My wife made contact (based on our policy number) with ABSA advising them , ABSA did arrange a towing service via A1 assist. The following morning we were advised that our last debit premium had been returned, however Mr Celyn Naidoo our broker assured me that he would enforce a premium debit ensuring us the repairs to the vehicle and a loaned vehicle. We made daily / hourly calls to Celyn, most of the time never took our calls and very seldom, he did answered to advise he will come back to us. The entire week pasted, no feedback. Monday (16 Mar15) we were advised that our policy does not exist (lapsed) hence the claim will not be looked at, we than took it upon ourselves to locate the car and arrange towing it home, however A1 did not release our car as they claim R9000.00 for towing and storage. We paid R9000.00 and towed the car home. Upon our first call to ABSA, why did'nt they advise our policy lapsed, only after one week, this put us in a major Financial buren. We borrowed the money to pay<br>
