On Friday, the 3rd of Feb, ABSA Vehicle Finance called me and insisted that I take time to discuss insurance with them on a vehicle that we currently have financed via them. I unfortunately was busy in a meeting with a client at the time and couldn't have a lengthy discussion - however I did confirm verbally that we already have insurance, and requested for an email to be sent with what information they require.

The agent was not impressed with this response and insisted that I complete the discussion there and then, and my patience was tested with this agent's rude abrasiveness. After I disconnected the call, I received not one, or two, but TWELVE sms'es informing that ABSA failed to get a hold of me - NOT THE CASE.

Not only did I receive an unwarranted amount of SMS'es, which sent my phone into a spiral and caused quite a distraction in the meeting that necessitated me to switch my phone off - the SMS in itself was unwarranted with ABSA informing that they will just add an insurance instalment to my vehicle premium if I do not send proof of insurance within 14 days.

This behaviour was unacceptable and I was sincerely apalled by it. We have sent through the insurance policy as proof like requested today and hopefully this will be the last of it.
