Punishing Pensioners, arrogant staff, missing in action manager
Visited Bluff Absa. They have the hardest wooden benches to sit on without backrests. This would have been ok if the waiting period was an hour or less. However here the waiting periods are unrealistic. I asked the manager if the other branches have this kind of benches, and she immediately said No, they have padded chairs. Why this anomaly? The market that it serves perhaps? Poorer people treated with disdain. They have 1 consultant for a dozen people. They have a pensions/handicapped area, which is more like a punishment than a privilege. So the benches are the same, hard, no backrests and no cushions, but the worst part is that you are lumped together with people who are making BULK deposits AND they have only 1 teller for dozens of us. Just one teller who is counting out money and taking, no exaggeration an hour to do it!!! So again pensioners are punished. When you ask to see the manager, they avoid you. No one is interested in your plight. ABSA's complaints line is non existant. You cannot get through to any number and ABSA feels that they are so great that they don't need a complaints department or staff at head office. The options given you phone the suppossedly complaints line is not related to complaints, but selling other products. I'm very upset with these customer un-friendly people.
