Provident Fund Claim

I worked for Mind Pearl in July 2009, i worked there for 7 months, i was permanent for 4 months. I then got a better job offer so i resigned with immediate effect. I was doing my tax returns for 2015 and i was told by SARS to get my IRP 5 certificates from my previous employers. I then called Mind Pearl, and then for the first time since 2009 I heard that I still have funds from my provident fund laying in an unclaimed account with ABSA. I then received my IRP 5 form from Mind Pearl as requested and was advised to get a tax certificate from ABSA in connection with my Provident Fund. When i called ABSA i was advised that i could receive a tax certificate for money that was not claimed. My question to Mind Pearl was why did they not contact me as my details has not changed since i left in 2009. To my understanding the funds owing to me from my provident fund is the 4 months I've worked there plus interest from 2009 to date, which ABSA is quering with Mind Pearl as to what must be paid. It's been 3 weeks and i still haven't received feedback from either companies. It's taking longer for them to get back to me than what it takes for the actual payout. My Tax Returns cannot be completed.
