Promises not kept

I moved my salary and debit orders over to ABSA with the promise of a consolidation loan for my debt at FNB. However, I have not yet been approved for this loan, even though I've been at ABSA for the last two months. I wanted to close my FNB account after paying off my debt, but now I have to keep it open. I'm thinking of rather closing my ABSA account and just staying at FNB, because I cannot afford paying fees for two accounts.
