Premium debited double the amount and absa life won't give me my refund
I have a funeral cover with Absa life, my premiums are up to date. In September I changed my debit order date from the 15th to the 24th. To my shock my account was debited by double the amount on the 24th. I have been calling them daily and they have failed me, my matter was eventually escalated to Enock and Benson who said on the 8th of October that my matter is being resolved and my refund is in a que. On the 8th of October I received the following email: "Good day
Please be advised that your premium refund is being processed and should be in client's account within 48 hours.
Regards ABSA Life ********** 253"
The refund obviously did not reflect in my account. Today, the 14th October I received the following email: "Good day
Hope this mail find you well
The reason why double debit was taken is because you change debit date to the 24th and policies are paid in advance so the second premium is for the month of October and the premium that we will debit in October it will be for November
Regards AbsaLife"
This makes absolutely no sense. 1. Firstly I did not miss a single payment so I am not in arrears I have been paying in advance 2. The premium deducted in August was effectively for the month of September 3. My debit order changed from the 15th To 24th(just 9 days later not a month later) so whether debited on the first or last day of September it is still in advance for the month of October 4. Tomorrow on the 15th of October my account will be debited again, so for which month was the extra premium for?
Honestly I am not an idiot, this is so disrespectful to be ****** of your hard earned money in such broad light. This can't be acceptable, I demand my money back!
