POPIA Violation – Confidential Debt Review Information

I am writing to formally complain about a serious breach of confidentiality by Absa’s Debt Review Department. On 2 March 2026, I requested that an email sent to my ex regarding my debt review, which is a private and confidential matter, be retracted immediately and that he be removed from all future correspondence. Despite this, the email has not been retracted, and my confidential information continues to be exposed to an unauthorised third party. This is a clear violation of the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). Debt review information is private, and sharing it with someone who is not authorised is ********.
