POPI - invasion of privacy - consultant behaviour unacceptable.
Absa has called me for a two days in a row to sell me a Credit Card - which I don't want, as explained to consultant on day 1 and day 2 .
On day 2 (third call): I asked the consultant whether he knew about the POPI act, which he said he does. I asked him to explain it to me. He said that's not in his job description. I asked the consultant to please get me his manager. He told me his manager was in a meeting. I told him I was in a meeting until moments ago when he called me to sell an Absa Credit Card for the third time in two days , when I asked not to be called again. I was called again, and left a meeting again, so I asked him to get his manager out of his meeting, since I took time from my meeting, again. The consultant put the phone down in my ear. I still don't know if I will be called again tomorrow.
I wasn't rude, I explained my situation and why I'm asking for the manager.
This is unacceptable. If a consultant is given the Consent from his manager to call me, I expect to be listened to. I didn't want a Credit Card, I didn't just put the phone down, I wasted my time, interrupted my meeting for a second time, to listen to the non-sense I wasn't interested about. A consultant can't just deny my right to privacy (as I instructed the previous day that I'm not interested), and then when I don't want to buy what he's selling, just put the phone down.
Furthermore, if I told one Consultant that I'm not interested in a product, I really won't change my mind in One Day. If I get called again, from the same company, about the same product - it's invasion of my privacy.
For reference, here's the list of number (note, different numbers every time): +27 11 ********** - 15/07/2019 12:27 - call declined +27 11 ********** - 15/07/2019 16:48 - call lasted 32 seconds +27 11 ********** - 16/07/2019 11:10 - call lasted 2 minutes 33 seconds
