Poor treatment of pensioners by ABSA Cresta

We visited Cresta Shopping Mall at month end in March. We walked past the ABSA branch where there was a long que of people. One of the customers in the que was a frail looking pensioner. We stopped and asked if we could assist her to the from of the line (as all banks place pensioners in the front of the que or so we thought). We were informed by other customers in the same que that this ABSA and the person manning the door refused to let her go to the front of the que as it is not ABSA policy. I tried to enter the bank to speak to a Manager but was stopped by security who refused me entrance to the bank unless I stand in the que. I am so glad that I do not bank with ABSA as I would have closed my account with immediately if I had any business with them. I think it is disgusting that a pensioner needs to spend a long time in a que because it is a businesses policy not to let them go to the front of the que. I have never heard of customers that complained as pensioners were given priority treatment. If I could give ABSA a minus star review I would have done so.
