Poor service

Today I went to the ABSA branch at Adderley Street in Fores**** Cape Town and I was received by Nazlee Branes. I wanted to make a deposit at the teller counter but she insisted that I use an ATM, but she could see it's not working. Then she ushered me inside the bank at the teller counter but there was no teller there. So she told me to wait 45 minutes because the teller is on lunch. I told her I'm not waiting that long and she said "the teller has the right to take lunch" then I said to her you can't tell that to the customer. Then I requested to see the manager (Ally Randal) who also shared the same sentiments with Nazlee that by "law" the teller has the right to take lunch. I told her I'm very disappointed on her as well. I though she would create a solution to this matter i.e. delegating someone to assist in that section. Then I shared a scenario with her that if you were to go into a Pick n Pay and discover that there are no cashiers on tills - would you just drop your items and leave the store - or being told to wait 45 minutes because all cashiers are on lunch. Ally's response to my scenario was that "I'm comparing two different sectors" the I told her these two different sectors have one thing in common and that is SERVICE. I told her if you can't SERVE just close your doors. I told them I will lay a complaint about this and then I requested their particulars. I was astonished by Ally's comments when I was writing her name down, she said "Make sure to write all my particulars". This is purely a sign of arrogance and disregard for customer service, to speak to a customer like that. The nerve this woman has, particularly at the position (Manager) were she seats. I am utterly appalled and disgusted by such an attitude. I do not think these two ladies understand the significance of quality service and how it can impact your organisation's brand equity and ultimately your sustainability endeavours. I told her you even have pride to speak to a customer like, she just stared at me. I left the bank without being served and the person (Ally) who is entrusted to bring solutions to such matters failed me.
