Poor service and lack of consideration
My dad passed away almost 3 years ago and once we were sorting out the estate we saw that the was an outstanding amount on his motor vehicle. Our lawyer then proceeded to pay the outstanding amount of 22k even though we had to make plans to get this amount. Whenever we contacted the Ladysmith branch we were told to contact motorvehicle finance. Everytime we queried we were given the run around. We had even received invoices saying we owed the money long after we had paid. After 1 and half years of paying for the vehicle we still hadn't received the log book. Eventually our lawyer said she would go to the ombudsman and then only was progress made. It took 1 and half years to get the log book. In the time the vehicle needed to have registration done and we were unable. Resulting in around R3000 in penalties. I am unemployed and my mum is a pensioner. Where do we get this money from when the issue was on Absa for delaying us. This is pathetic. If we defaulted in payment quickly the car would've been reposesd. Banks don't care for their clients. My dad was a loyal customer.
