Poor Service : Absa Debit card disputes department
On 21/12/2020 I received a sms notification of an unauthorized deduction from Microsoft in the amount of R1399 on 22/12/2020. I have forwarded emails to absa debit card dispute department ( absa dispute ref no : C***8) and went to absa bank to stop the disputed transaction and the card. Initially I was of the view that I had given authorization to Microsoft to affect the transaction but found that no such authorization was given to Microsoft to affect such transactions. I have a Google Play account. The reason for this false notion was I was of the view that Google Play and Microsoft was one and same account. After having perused all my transactions on Google Play I realised that I have not given either Google Play or Microsoft authorization to make the deduction of R1399. On 29/12/2020 I received an email from Absa that should I have entered an agreement with Microsoft I must cancel with Microsoft directly. I have an absa account with Absa for over 30 years and I am not regarded as a valuable client. I have other accounts with other banks such as Fnb and Capitec. If I lodge a dispute with latter banks they immediately stop and reverse the transaction irrespective of whether or not there is a contractual obligation. I would like for a senior advice from absa debit card or ***** division to assist in resolving the matter amicably from both parties. I have send an email to Microsoft but no response is forthcoming. I would like the amount of R1399 to be reversed by Absa and my account credited. Should you have any queries please contact me on ***
