Poor service

My mum banks at Absa. She is 91. We recently visited Absa Bank at Westgate. There were several elderly people in the queue and the queue just didn't seem to get any shorter. My mum dediced to advance in the queue to the front as she was not prepared to wait long. The fatique on the elderly was quite noticeable and there was no counter for 'pensioners'. While waiting for my mum, I took photos of the situation in the bank ... no one even noticed!! I know it is not allowed but the situation was appalling. I had sufficient time to just watch!! Friends/family accompanying Absa customers were just lazing/slouching/sleeping on the available chairs in the banking hall. Two ladies, one elderly, were taking a seat on the backrest of the couches, due to insufficient chairs available. I actually saw a man sleeping in the chair. There were no staff walking around to assist customers ... at least none were noticed. At one point one of the customer service staff approached another customer service colleague and had words with her. It seemed she was asked/told to cut the chatter with a customer. It seemed they were just having a relaxing visit while customers were waiting to be attended to. The bank manager was not available and neither the lady who sits in the office and the person who sits at the front desk office also not. Everyone ... customers and staff all looked tired! Can Absa Bank please do something about the situation and make the business a professional one, not a resting place for the weary. For professional service, please visit Nedbank Westgate and learn
