POOR SERVICE

I am trying since 26 July 2022 to have a Sanlam policy which was ceded to ABSA 20 years ago being removed as the bond account is paid up years ago. I was advised to speak to Mandla, who is the banker at ABSA VRYHEID. On the 29 July he told me he will follow up later, as he was very busy....... On 12 August I received a phone call and whatsup from him informing me that it has been done. I asked him about a letter of proof as Sanlam requested that, but he informed me it is not necessary as they will see on system. On 15 July I phoned him at 08h30 and he told me he was in a meeting. I told him I will speak to him later. I sent him a whatsup at 08h49 (which he almost read immediately) informing him that I spoke to Sanlam this morning and indeed they need letter of proof. I went to town and and popped in at ABSA to see him, and try to arrange for the letter. I asked the hostess who was doing duty at door if he was available and she informed me that he was. I waited for an hour...during which time 3 ladies working there ask me if they could assist. I told them I am waiting for Mandla. The first 2 went inside to offices (behind the door) and informed me that he is coming. With the last lady going inside to check where he was?? she informed me that he was in a meeting until 15h00. I left ABSA as I was not happy with the service received from Mandla. I feel if he is unable to assist he should ask some one who have the knowledge to do so. Other than this I always received good and friendly service from the ladies at ABSA.

Reviewer Update
The date should read "on 15 August I phoned him" and not 15 July as on review.
I received a message from Mandla today where he apologized for yesterday and told me he will try to resolve this as soon as possible. Don't know if this will take weeks again, as according to him it was done...I only need the letter. If I do not receive my letter this week, I will forward details. Thanks
