I have been a client with ABSA vehicle finance for the last 8 years, in stating same; I have financed 8 vehicles over this period. I make reference to my last deal being almost two months to date, whereby I received written settlement confirmation from AVAF, providing me with rebate amount, subject to re-finance with ABSA. A week after settlement of the respective vehicle and refinance with AVAF, I enquired with AVAF call centre with regard to the payment date for the rebate. I was informed by the call centre operator that the rebate is payable 45 days, then provided with the date for the rebate payment by the call centre consultant, being the 15th Dec-16 and a reference number in accordance (Ref ********** 9 07/11/2016). I then enquired as per my previous deal, that the rebate was finalised and paid to me within 3 weeks of settlement, nevertheless, I accepted the condition and confirmation. I called the AVAF call centre this morning, only to be informed by another call centre consultant that the rebate is payable after 45 “working” days, I’m taken aback, noting that I was provided with a definite date and Reference number, now being informed otherwise. I am really disappointed in this instance with incorrect feedback from the call centre, but even more disappointed with ABSA retaining rebate payment for the longest time period possible. Question to ask “Is interest calculated on working days only?” This is really disappointing for a long standing and loyal client to ABSA Vehicle Finance.
