Poor Advice & Service - ABSA bank
It's like we knew this would happen, you don't expect anything less from ABSA. Our daughter had a fixed deposit which we needed to transfer on it's maturity date as we were immigrating. We specifically went into the bank to ask that everything would be ok for us to do this from the UK. Well we transferred it into my daughters normal account and low and behold ABSA did not inform us to set a "digital limit". Days of phone calls been sent from one department to another a lady tells us there's nothing we can do except for someone to go to SA embassy to somehow get power of attorney. It's disgusting that we receive such poor service and advice. We cannot expect normal working people to go sit in embassy's etc to get our daughters money out or just to change a "limit". The only reason we used ABSA was because of their interest rate. I would warn anyone wanting to use ABSA's service, not to!
