I have recently switched my salary from one bank to another. In order to keep all my accounts up to date, I contacted all my debit orders to give them the new details.

When I got hold of ABSA vehicle finance's call centre, I first had to hold and punch in numbers on the keyboard for so long before I eventually got hold of someone.

I told the guy who answered the phone that I wanted to change my banking details and he just said I should email the information through to a specific email address. I did so.

A few days later, I received an email from ABSA, saying I should call another call centre and quite a specific number. Angry that I had to call them back, I did so. When I got hold of the call centre, they advised me to contact yet another number.

So I did. Eventually on the third attempt to enter my ID number into the voice prompted call, I hung up.

I can't understand why it is so much of a mission for one of your vehicle finance customers to change the bank details. It almost seems as if you do not want to collect your money...
