Pensioner tired of false promises.

I am a retired person without any income currently. I retired from the Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC) in December 2017, but up to now I have not received any payment. I was advise to see a financial advisor at ABSA on the 31st of October 2017 to arrange for my provident to start processing once the last payment to the fund is done . I was assured that it to get payment from the fund by February 2018, but nothing happened.

From then until now I have not received anything from it, instead I only receive empty promises from ABSA. Worst part is that all the promises made are not met and no updates will be made. I have to be the one who makes follow-ups with the bank. During March 2018 I was promised by Ms Maivha who was processing my retirement that I will receive it by the end of the month, but nothing happened and no explanation was given. I had to call them as there was no update from them and I was promised it will be paid by Wednesday and nothing has happened.

This is a very frustrating time of my life, my accounts are not being paid causing a bad credit name for myself. I have been giving my creditors the misinformation from ABSA and could not honour them.

I need ABSA to stick to what they communicate to me and honour their promises. This is unacceptable and I have tolerated it for 4 months and as time goes by I am sinking deep into my credits and interests are piling-up. I have no food as I have no money to buy. This is not fair at all. I will appreciate it if my plea can be heard.

Dear Claudette Lewis This is to let you know that ABSA has not done anything about my plea. You continue to make promises that you fail to honour decimally. I am of the view that this bank does not care about people particularly Africans. I am don’t think they would have done this if I was a woman of a different race. It is unheard of in the business sector especially banks that when a signatory is on training somewhere processing of people’s claims are delayed. My claim has been waiting for this claim for almost 3 weeks. I therefore demand that ABSA pays today day and clears the money immediately and they should also pay for the clearance of funds. ABSA should also pay for all the interests that I incurred due in all my accounts. This behaviour by a bank cannot be tolerated. I have worked very hard for what they are keeping to get more money into their business. I therefore demand that ABSA pays all the interest they gained from my money to me. ABSA YOU ARE A BAD PROVIDENT FUND MANAGER. IT IS A PITY THAT YOU WILL CONTINUE MANAGING MY FUNDS. IF I HAD OPTIONS I WILL TAKE IT AWAY FROM YOU. BAD-BAD-BAD!!!!.
