Pensioner left stranded with no help
@AbsaSouthAfrica Yet another *********** annoyance from absa. My mum was I'll in hospital and asked me to pay her bills. We tried to register for internet banking like hee standard bank account. Registration said goto branch. Mum is out of hospital but housebound. After 90 mins getting pushed from person to person they said cant be done without mum there. Them they agreed To send somebody to her home to sign power of attorney to give me access. 2 weeks gone by and no visit. So i went and paid for a power of attorney form stone signed and signed with lawyer and num. Took it to the bank and they again say no csnt be done. The they took the form and said they would call me . Thats 1 week ago and now when I call to enquire they advise me to : Go get a power oof attorney form. After again explaining i did and they took it and never called me. Yup bank have no record of it. Form cost 800 rand and they lost it. Not very good service to a pensioner who has two investment accounts there , 1 is well into 7 figures and the other substantial. Along with 2 savings accounts. #uselessservice #absano good closingalltheaccounts

The law does not require the power of attorney to be noterised it requires 2off witnesses and their id. So mum still csnjot pay her bills via the interent . And to make things worse my wife went to absa fourways with it on Saturday to take it thee and came home in tears as the lady manager was so rude.

We went but with very little hope as we have done this 3 times already. HOWEVER between these 3 ladies we are sorted, all done and dusted. Thanks you very much from the bottom of my heart for helping us. Just goes to show any problem just takes somebody who wamts to solve it . Thanks ladies .
