PayShap default?!

After I received a call from Vanessa Crowe, it's clear that ABSA is not planning to change this and will keep it on PayShap for default for transactions up to R1000. She tried to explain that I do have the option to change the default back to normal EFT, as if that's some sort of resolution to the problem. The problem I have to do it every time for every transaction.

ABSA has not offered any solution, and this is the way forward. It's clear that this is a money grab being presented as a convenient feature.

That's pathetic. It's a blatant ripoff. There is almost no need for immediate transfers, this only serves as another method to fleece unsuspecting customers.

And now I unwittingly made another PayShap payment where it was not needed at all. This is such a low class ****my system that ABSA has put in place.

No! You are counting on the client to forget to change the option to normal EFT and capitalizing on that! It's CLEARLY designed for that purpose otherwise PayShap would NOT have been the default payment method, let alone Instant EFT for transactions over R3k! This is simply another underhanded tactic used to milk unsuspecting clients! I cannot believe you think this is acceptable!

That sounds like a very formal way of saying ABSA has no intention of doing anything about this. After all, it's a money maker.

People should be made aware of how they're being **********, with a prominent notification that states it clearly instead of sneakily hoping people won't notice ABSA's trashy tricks.
