Payment to an Invalid account .

I made a payment to a standard bank Account however I made an error when Inserting the number . I only inserted 4 Digits.

When I spoke to the call centre I was told it will take 7 weeks to reject ,In disbilief I went to a branch who told me to e-mail Digital banking .I e-mailed them on the sameday which was the 27th and I havent has a reply yet . On the 29th I went back to the Branch and the lady called their technical department who advised that the Money will reject on Monday which is the 1st of October .When I checked again with the call centre I was told the money is still showing Succsesful payment. The lady told me I should e-mail Missing Payments which I have done and still no Reply!

I understand I made the error however Im being sent from pillar to post and no one can give me a straight answer .This is my rent Money and I need to know whats happening .
