Pay my money owed to me
hereby wish to lay a formal complaint against ABSA iDirect with regards to the below claim ref: ********** 6*001*001 [EC: 48887cf0] On the night of the 12/13th April 2019 during a routine road block on Hendrik Potgieter road I was flagged and pulled over by Metro police. During this time we were asked the basic questions and all was fine and were ready to get back into the car to leave the scene when Mr David Wagner (Details below) then ignored all visible indications of the road block and traffic lights at the corner and slammed into the rear of my vehicle almost resulting in my cousins death had the officer not dragged him clear. I then called my insurer to lodge the claim to assess the vehicle and the way forward. It took Absa 2 weeks to come back to me and assign Andrew Styger to the case. Must emphasize that when the claim was lodged I did inform the consultant about the courtesy car as well of which to date have not received even though we are paying for the service. Also mentioned that clothing was ****** by one of the Tow Truck vendors as well totalling about R30000.00 of which I mentioned to Absa and nothing was done about that. The BMW assessor then contacted me with their quote and possible repairs to the vehicle which came in at around R330000.00 and then took this to Absa who consequently sent out there assessor who came it at around R480000.00. This I still do not understand how the insurer’s value is higher than the manufacturer, surely this is the other way around. The confusion that Andrew is causing is were Andrew is asking my cousin Clayton van der Haar who is a designated driver and a passenger on the night of the vehicle questions pertaining to the claim of which I feel has no bearing on the matter. For example he asked him if he had previous insurance and he did provide the necessary documentation to prove that. Also asked his wife he was with us at the time and was in the vehicle very PERSONAL questions and the one person that got injured in the accident. My problem with this is why does my cousin and his wife who were just with me on the night have to be subjected to any questioning from Andrew at ABSA who I must state is a very rude person and does not take the customers interests first. His name appears on a number of complaints at Hello Peter Having said the above I feel this should not have been investigated as Metro police were on the scene in a ROAD BLOCK and the car was stationary as well. Andrew did mention that he spoke to Mr Wagner who accepted full responsibility and mentioned that his insurer is willing to pay the claim (Andrew mentioned he has the recording of this). Why did ABSA then not pursue this route of claiming from the 3rd party but rather looked at all possible ways to not pay this claim going as far as to ask very personal questions and making us feel like ********* and *****. We are descent business minded professionals earning a living and have never been in this situation before and feel that ABSA not did support us during a traumatic event but rather made it worse. I am now being told I will be placed in a worse financial position with the amount in which Absa expects me to pay. I have comp**** with all the necessary requirements and I expect to be paid out for the current value of the Vehicle. You are clearly looking for way to avoid settling this, however you never looked for way to avoid debiting my account.
I expect this matter to be dealt with immediately.
