Pay 4 times the required amount, now ABSA says I am in arrears

This is my second complaint for ABSA is a few month. Not sure what is happening there.

I'm a loyal client, since it was Trust Bank. I was so shocked when I received a SMS message from ABSA, saying that I am in arrears with my credit card and they blocked the account now.

I have a credit card for years and years and never had this type of issue! When I received the SMS, I was very upset and phoned the credit card department. They then told me I did not make a payment. I made a payment of R4200 on the 21st of December 2018. My minimum amount due was something like R900. I made the payment earlier that month, because of my salary that came in earlier and always pay my credit card first.

They them told me, the account date or something was 23 December 2018 (which I was not aware of and not even know what that mean). I made a payment on the 21st, so they wanted it after 21 December 2018. I didn't even know that. They told me I must make another payment. I told them I gave more than 4 times that was required and do not have any more money.

I also phone and complained about this, not sure what will happen with that. The other thing is, I was charged about R100+ more in finance charges as well.

After I phoned ABSA, someone phone me from ABSA. It sounded like a collection department or something. They lady talked to me like she don't really want to talk. Like if someone talk down on someone. I told her that I phoned in already and explained what they told me, then she told me, it's okay if I spoke to someone and hanged up. The call and the way she addressed me was not professional in my opinion.

I tried to do the right thing and make the payment as quick as possible and now they do this!!??

As I said, this is my second complain in a few month. What is going on?

Why am I paying more in finance charges?

Also, I hope ABSA are not marking this as a miss payment on the ITC, then it will be another story.

I am very upset and furious about this! Can someone help me resolve this??
