Pathetic service and disappointment for new customer

I have recently switched my home loan to ABSA from FNB. I have paid funds into the bond account to which I need access. I was assured by the home loans people that I will have a flexi facility and I will have access to the funds. I opened an account online, seeing as I seriously dislike branches and most of everything can be done online, unfortunately ABSA requires that you have to go to a branch to activate the account and online banking.

After spending almost two hours in an ABSA branch, going through all the issues, jumping through hoops and asking repeatedly if EVERYTHING is now sorted out and in order, I was assured this was done.

Now I can’t access any account, with an error message that states the limits have not been set. The bond account does not even show on the profile. I cannot access the funds in the bond account and the transact account is useless as it’s only purpose was to access the bond account funds.

I left ABSA more than 11 years ago and was hopeful that there may have been some improvements in this time, but sadly ABSA still cannot get the basics right.

After sending in a complaint on 24 May already, directly to ABSA, I receive a very arrogant call TODAY (a week later for the first time) from someone that has never understood any value in customer service or interaction, just aggrevating the situation by telling me that nothing will be done if I do not, NOW with my spouse, go back into an ABSA branch.

This is truely pathetic! An absolutely disgusting experience.

Can someone please sort this out!
