Paid up but blacklisted

I had a credit card with absa which I failed to pay as per agreement. I was handed over to lawyers and I made an arrangement with them and was paying on monthly basis. When I got a discount in December I settled the balance and got the settlement letter. I was told the information would be updated even with the credit bureaus. Previously, the credit card was just overdue on my credit report but now it appears as a default even though I have settled the balance and even got a settlement letter from the lawyers. Please clear this as it is affecting me and I am trying to rebuild my credit life.
