Owe R2057,79 for Absa mistake

I have moved my account from a saving to a Gold cheque account at the beginning of December. My overdraft is 250. I was told that my money had been transferred to my cheque account. I purchased a product of R1059 in Montague Gardens which was deducted from my cheque account. I returned it and they reversed the transaction but onto my savings account without me knowing. I go to the back today only to be told that I owe the bank over R2000 on my cheque account. How am I way over in my overdraft if my limit is set to R250??? I also have 2 X policies through Absa which deducts R100 on the first of every month from my cheque account. I am now paying nearly R600 in bank charges! A total of R2057,79! Is this how they make their money? I feel like closing my account and going to a different bank!
