Overcharged vehicle repayment
I have vehicle financed by Absa. In 2020 during covid, I took three months payment break. Before I took that payment break, I asked the Absa consultant as to what are the financial implications. The consultant said there are no financial implications per say, just that your payment term will be increased by three month.
To my surprise few weeks ago I decided to check my vehicle finance statement, then I discovered that payment term was increased by eight months instead of three months. I then went to Absa branch to get clarity, then I was told told that with my query I must contact vehicle finance call centre, fine I did that.
I spoke to someone on that vehicle finance department call centre whom referred me to collections department call centre. The lady from collections department said it was a different department that handled payment break in 2020, and that I should speak to them, she said its restructuring department. She tried transferring me however those number were going to voice mail. She then gave me that number and said I should try phoning them later.
I have been trying those number however they not going through. I decided to write an email with hope that I will get clarity however they keep on referring me to dial the vehicle finance call centre and the call centre also don’t have answers and they very helpless. Instead they sent me my statements, I mean I have my statements.
We keep on going on circles and I am not happy at all.
All I need is clarity on why my payment term was increased by eight months instead of three months, and that they must rectify that.
Kind regards
