Outragous Banking Fees

Around 3 months ago I went to our local branch to update my information as I got married and moved, the consultant did not want to accept by marraige certificate as it was the written one we received on the day of our wedding and not the printed one, she also would not accept my proof of residence as we are renting and it was a letter from our landlord and not from the municipality. I was very upset and then requested to close all my accounts, to which the consultant responded that I have to speak to the branch manager, who was not available. I left and opened an account with another bank (who accepted both the proof of residence and the marriage certificate rejected by ABSA) which I have been using since. Yesterday I received an notice that I have ten days to settle my outstanding account, after checking the online app I saw that I now owe over R3000 in banking fees for the last 3 months. I was outraged ofcourse. A consultant then called me and told me to settle the account and close it, she was quite rude, nevertheless i went to ABSA to close the account. After speaking to the consultant and paying the full outstanding amount I had to stand in another line to pay R6.88 to close the account. When reaching the front and wanting to pay the amount with my card i was informed that it has to be paid Cash, so I had to go draw money and pay this amount. The consultant then closed the account without me having to talk to the branch manager. This means that I could have closed the account when I was there the first time but for some reason was not allowed to, this cost me R3000 extra, in banking fees, how ridiculous is that!!!
