Outrageous *********ly high bank fees !!

ABSA charged me what is in my opinion an unconscionably ******ionate fee of R64 for a R200 cash deposit over the counter at an ABSA branch. I currently have a Gold Value Bundle with ABSA. Looking at the official ABSA 2020 pricing guide, under "Gold Value Bundle", ABSA lists a number of fees but is silent and not transparent at all regarding this one most extravagant outrageous fee - their fee for cash deposits over the counter at a branch. Suspicious how so many other fees are declared, except this one fee that the customer really needs to know about. On raising a complaint with ABSA, they told me that this fee is mentioned under an earlier package. My argument was that all the other fees for that earlier package, for example the monthly service, does not apply to me so why would I assume that any other fee under that other earlier package would relate to me. It is quite despairing that a man in the street has to tell the mighty ABSA bank that a bank fee of R64 for a R200 cash deposit is just not ethical and not justified at all, ever. What is wrong with their thinking that they actually have to be told this? No wonder people are moving away from the traditional banks in droves.
