Onion to Absa for customer non-service

Following my previous complaint about Absa, when all my debit orders were blocked on 1st April 2016, I was eventually told it was a “system error” that affected many clients. Subsequently a 3-rd party charged me total R750 in penalties for 5 returned debit orders. On 26/4 I contacted Absa requesting an equal compensation for these penalties. Case reference nbr: 322 54 15. I was told turnaround time would be about 3 working days. On 15/5 I contacted Absa, and was told that the matter was “in progress”. On 19/5 I contact again, and was told the same. I insisted to get more info, and was told that the matter had gone from “Absa Advisers” to “Magtape” and thereafter to “Central help desk” where it has been with a Mr Peter since 5/5. I was asked to contact him (Should’t HE contact me, perhaps?) on 011 ***. The number is permanently busy (off the hook, maybe?).

I’ll wait a little longer, before I approach the Ombudsman.

Here is an onion for a ‘great customer service’ that Absa brags so much about L
