Old Debt being communicated today

What pathetic, disgrace of new discovery today. I tried applying for housing loan today. Only found out that ABSA chose to list me for non collection. I had a credit card in 2002 today is 15 September 2015 they say they did not collect the debt from me at all. I decided to contact ABSA, spoke with a Freda whom said she will forward my number to the relevant people to be discussed however nothing has been communicated. How come a debt more than 10 years be communicated only to me today? I am so disappointed of ABSA trying to recover the money from me after so many years. The consultant(Freda) said to me collection should have been in 2005 but all this years nothing has been communicated to me and I am also not aware of it. I want this to be clearly sorted out.
