OLD AGE PENSION RIP-OFF
My husband is an old age pensioner and had drawn his pensioner from an ABSA ATM for the last couple of years. This month when he went to draw his pension of R1710 at the ABSA ATM. First he drew a statement that said available balance R1710 but when he tried to draw his pension - he received an error message 'Insufficient funds', so he cancelled the transaction and went to the Post office where he tried to draw R1710 again but his available balance was only R1708.40. In other words ABSA has charged him R1.60 for the failed transaction. I think this is disgusting on the part of ABSA to charge an old age pensioner when trying to draw the small pension that he gets especially for a failed transaction. Needless to say my husband won't be drawing his pension again from ABSA but will struggle up the steps to the Post Office - see review on Pick n Pay regarding drawing of old age pension
