Nothing Africanacity about ABSA, nothing customer centricity about you!
I have insurance Policy Number: *** with Absa Activate, In August last year I put in a claim for our wedding bands under home content. When the 'contents' were added onto the policy they were added as 4 separate pieces: my wife's ring was made up of 3 individual pieces which makes up the whole 1 band. To my suprise, the claim was submitted as 3 seperate claims *** and I was told by ***ca that "Each item needs to be evaluated and will have a its own valuation certificate" despite the fact that when requesting the items to be covered, the evaluation certification was provided as requested and we were given cover, now that I have a claim there was a back and forth with the team as the initial person who captured the items ****ed up! in simple terms.
Moreover, I was charged excess on all 3 claims as they were treated as 3 seperate claims (as per claim numbers provided above). Much as they ackowledged the stuff up, they still did not sort it out and I ended up posting my complaint on Hellopeter, the ***ca tended to the matter, by pushing them to settle the claim and overlook the fact that i was charged 3 excesses for 1 claim. No one apologized nor try to fix and rectify the matter.
Fast track to May 2024, I was sent an email Post-Loss Endor*****t Notice informing me that my claim ratio is high and will increase premium. Immediately I knew that the August claim had an impact on my profile and claim history, and when i contacted them to inquire, i spoke to Khuselo Mbebe on May 30 who advised that i need to sent a request to the following addresses: "***ca/***ca" stating the following: Please reconsider this action because all these claims *** are for 1 ring which was incorrectly captured at the inception of the policy to be deemed as 3 units, however, it was 1 ring band which aggregated 3 units making up this 1 band. As a result and as per attached settlements, I was charged R500 excess on each claim. Furthermore, the valuable possessions were not removed from the policy and I am still paying for them. Thus, please remove the rings as valuable possessions on this policy as they were settled around August/September 2023, and refund me all the premiums to date.
I have not claimed for vehicles in over a year, and the last claim was based on the above regarding the wedding bands. Thus, please reconsider the claim ratio as you incorrectly captured this claim as 3 separate claims and not 1 claim.
These are the reference numbers I have been getting since, last one was yesterday: C-***3/C-***5/C-***6 and this is supposed to be their Level 2 escalation team, who couldnt be bothered! and the person supposedly assigned to the ticket, but to this day - not even one of them have made contact. All they do is call each other out to make contact with the client but they dont even bother. You spend your time and money chasing after them to do their job, but they are profusely *********** but their customer service and retention is tedious.
***ca is a Specialist Case Manager, but his been handling this query since Aug 2023 and 9/10 months later this query is still in limbo.
I want this sorted out URGENTLY and IMMEDIATELY! I am sick and tired of Absa
Utterly incompetency at its best.
