Not stopping a ********** transaction when informed

Via the Notifyme service I realised that a ********** transaction took place on my debit card. I immediately phoned Absa and the consultant assisted in cancelling the card (within minutes of the transaction happening). She also instructed me to go into the branch to file for a ********** case and to get a new card. I did this (same day). The enquiries consultant phoned headoffice and flagged the transaction as **********. As it was still showing as Uncleared/Pending on his system he instructed for the payment not to be released. He logged a ***** case for me and the feedback I receive that it would be resolved within 3 working days. On the 4th working day I went into the branch again as I haven't received any feedback. Now they say it will take 30 days to resolve and more importantly, Absa cleared that funds which means I do not have any money left over?? Why bother then to call and flag a payment as ********** if Absa is only going to ignore it and pay anyway? Why have a Uncleared/Pending status then? This was the responsibility of my Bank, with whom I have been banking for 17 years, to have my best interest at heart and act on the information and not release that funds but no, they do not really care. Just as long as I pay my monthly fees and absorbent interest fees
