NOT A VERY CLEVER IDEA TO HAVE A "TAP" FUNCTION ON A CREDIT CARD?!

I honestly don't understand why banks would want to have a "tap" system on a credit card this is a huge risk and if they insist should the credit card holder not be asked for permission to put this on the card??!!! I really don't think this is a good idea at all because if it should fall in the wrong hands or get ****** then it is a problem. I received my new credit card in July and it automatically has a "tap" function on it. I do not like it and for security reasons I think it is a huge risk why on earth would you want something like this!! I would like to have this deactivated now I will have to find time to go into a bank to deactivate which is very inconvenient. Where is the security on this type of thing, I would much rather put my pin in on the card machine.
