NON-REQUIRED INSURANCE BILLED
Absa deducted a higher instalment on my December debit order. I called to find out the reason for this and I was told it's for insurance - so they imposed an insurance policy without confirming with if I have one or not and I never received any notification whatsoever that this will be done. I have my own insurance and this action was not necessary. This caused my other debits to decline as I had the exact amount for debit orders to got through. It's an inconvenience for me to rectify all the debits that declined and this is giving me a bad credit record.<br> I'm now told (by Amanda - contact centre agent) I need to send proof that I have an insurance policy for my vehicle and the reversal of funds will take up to 7 working days. What do I do in the meantime to have the other debits settled as Absa is controlling my finances at their discretion? I need this resolved and my money put back in 24 hours.
