NON-PAYMENT OF FUNERAL POLICY

In 2014 I went to Musgrave branch in Durban. I took out a funeral policy which covers myself, my daughter and my grandmother (R20.000). At the time when I took out the policy, the lady that assisted me had no queries with me in regards to my grandmother however they are now saying my late granma was not supposed to have qualified for the cover. I went to the branch with my I.D. document as well as my grandmother's but there were no questions or concerns from their side. My grandmother has passed away on the 11th of November 2017. I went to Absa bank to claim and the bank is now telling me that my grandmother shouldn't have been covered because of her age. I told them that this was not communicated with me from the beginning. The bank is now refusing to pay me but I've been paying them all this time without fail and no queries from their side. They didn't even try to stop the payments or remove her from the cover. Instead of them paying the claim they have given me the premiums only which is totally unfair and a **************** because I was not saving money for her I had covered her to allow her a proper funeral and demand the claim of the amount we had agreed on initially which is R20000. I even went to the extent of borrowing money because my granny had to be buried with dignity.

This had caused a huge ******* to my budget and a whole lot of frustration. I demand to be paid what I'm owed!!!
