No settlement letter for paid up account

I contacted the Absa Personal Loans Department on 2 March 2015 and requested a settlement amount on my loan. I was advised that the settlement amount was R3343.10 and this amount was valid for the day only. I requested a letter confirming this amount and was advised that as a call centre they were not allowed to send letters and that I should go to the branch if i require written confirmation. Nevertheless I paid the amount and called the Loans Department for a settlement letter confirming that the account has been paid in full and has been closed. I was advised that I should go to the branch as they were not allowed to send letters, the branch will print the letter immediately and give it to me. I went to the Sandridge branch and I was given a statement printout which reflects a nil balance and was advised that this would be sufficient. I requested a proper letter and was advised that the call centre should have emailed it to me and they are unable to furnish me with that letter at the branch. The consultant sent an email to [Email Removed] requesting that they provide me with a letter. I have not received the letter yet. Please assist as this is unacceptable.
