No Overdraft/Credit Facility, you can charge me R2.5k for having a bank account during Covid-19? Scandalous
Dear Absa,
I resigned my job, February. I cancelled debit orders. Yet I have just received a phone call. I owe you R7.5k. I do not have a credit/overdraft facility. So does this mean my banking charges are now R2.5k/month during Covid-19? I am between jobs. Waiting for UIF, as I have a CCMA dispute ongoing with my previous employer. My Pensioen fund was only app**** for on Saturday, from my previous employer. On top of this I have my Son, that recently moved back in with me, because his father is terminally ill. This is truly not what I would have expected from a major banking institution like you. Your agent phone me from home due to the Covid-19, she is working from home, but she can not escalate the obvious problem, and advised me to go into a branch, and expose myself to the virus you are protecting her from. It seems a bit funny to me. With the terminal illness I have had to go into banks these last couple of weeks, and average time spent waiting outside and inside the bank amounts to about 3hrs/visit. If it is your job and you getting paid it is one thing, but being **********, is scandalous to say the least.
