No ***** refund from ABSA after 7 weeks

On 8 March 2017 both my ABSA accounts (Rivonia branch) were emptied by electronic *****,

My limit on the amount of money that could be transferred each day was exceeded. The de*****ers even put one account into the red.

As requested by ABSA I made a statement to the polic e and filled in the required forms. I phoned ABSA ***** line repeatedly and on 23rd March I was given a case number for an E-crime, : ASZA ********** 01. Only after 3 1/2 weeks was I given the name, phone number and email of the detective assgned to the case.

I phoned the given number repeatedly, alwaysgetting an engaged signal. Finally I spoke to Steward Julius on 10th April when a ***** line person transferred my call to him. On this occasion he told me all would be sorted out by 25 April. I could not reach telephonically on that day, getting an engaged signal every time I called. Finally I sent an email asking for a refund. To date I have not received a reply, and I continue to unsuccessfully phone the detective.

Having no funds has been extremely difficult. I have had to borrow money to see me through for 3 weeks. this included paying for an eye operation on 13th March.

For 50 years I have banked with ABSA, starting with its predecessor United Building Society.

It would appear that ABSA does not value my loyalty and is not a bit concerned about refunding me.

mybroadband.co.za metions that both ABSA and STANDARD are being deluged by numerous E-Crime electonic *****s .

Look up news/banking on this website ,.... and search for ABSA
