NO customer service from Insurance Dept FOGI
Absa home building insurance is the most pathetic I have come across. Our geyser burst on 17/11. It was only replaced at 4pm on the 19th. Our ceiling will only be replaced TOMORROW 2/12!!! Assessor was here on 22/11. On the 24/11 the thermostat packed up of the brand new geyser. The company who installed the geyser came and checked and took photos. A message was sent if Duratherm doesnt attend to the matter please phone FOGI. Then on Wednesday another plumber came to take photos. On Friday FOGI refused to speak to me as I’m not the policy holder. I begged Palesa to please sort it out as we are the tenants and we’d been without hot water for 6 days and that we were getting a lot of people on Sat. She promised to phone my landlord. She NEVER did. He got hold of someone and was told they’d replace the thermostat on Sat morning. By 12pm I let him know nobody had come yet. He spent 30 mins ranting and raving. At about 2.30 plumbers arrived, TO TAKE MORE PHOTOS!!!! I showed him the message that Duratherm was supposed to have sorted it out. He phoned FOGI who said NOTHING HAS BEEN REPORTED!!!!!! USELESSSSSSS. My Landlord phoned again and had to register a new claim, Sat afternoon!!! Its a damn thermostat that costs about R100!!!! We have not had hot water for SEVEN days!!!! They dont give a damn and NOBODY there can do their job properly, as usual. I’m the tenant, my landlord has insurance for this but because they installed a faulty geyser as the plumber said happens A LOT, WE must suffer for it. Really, we only asking for a new thermostat, not a geyser!!!! THINK 2x before taking out your home building insurance with ABSA. They are USELESS and dont give a damn about their clients. BUT, pay 1 day late and you have problems. Not only is ABSA the bsnk with the most ***** on people’s accs but the worst service to clients as well. So many people moan about ABSA on FB. Dont blame them at all. Will NEVER bank with ABSA!!!!!
